 Oatman, AZ is located up the hill from Bullhead City and Laughlin on the Colorado River. It is an old Gold Mining Town on the historic US Hwy 66. You can see there gunfighters shooting and ladies dressed in 1890's style and of course panhandling Wild Burro's all over the town. There are a bunch of Antique Shops and craft shops.
Oatman, AZ originated over 100 years ago. In 1915, two miners struck a $10 million gold find and within a year, the town's population grew to more than 3,500.


Oatman, AZ was named in honor of Olive Oatman, a young girl, who was kidnapped by an Apache tribe and sold to Mojave Indians. Later on she was rescued in a trade in 1857.
The Oatman Hotel was built in 1902. Clark Gable and Carol Lombard honeymooned at the Oatman Hotel on March 18, 1939 after marrying in Kingman. Their room is one of the attractions at the Oatman Hotel.

​​In 1921, a fire destroyed many shacks in town, and three years later United Eastern Mines, shut down operations for good. Oatman, AZ became a traveler's paradise on old U.S. Route 66, where you can travel back in time.

Traveling between Las Vegas, NV and Kingman, AZ just a few miles down US HWY 93 is Ghost Town - little town called Chloride, Arizona. The town was founded in 1862 with a discovery of silver. At one time there were 75 mines and over 2000 people living there. Artists of all types make up a part of the town today. Tourist can use a restaurant and 15 rooms AAA approved motel and etc.
And as we continue traveling through time, we will stop briefly nearby the 21st century's newest addition. The Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, which crosses over the Colorado River just above the Hoover Dam.
